Scene in London: Introduction

Samantha Foley in her Croydon art studio

Hello, I'm Samantha, designer and founder of Scene in London.

Born and raised in South London, I've spent almost 20 years working in the design industry. I've designed for many fashion and homeware brands over the years, and have sold my own collections to much loved retailers (including Anthropologie and TKMaxx) and prestigious galleries and museums (The Royal Academy, The British Museum, Fashion and Textile Museum, Dulwich Picture Gallery, Towner Gallery). My designs have sold around the globe with clients in Tokyo, LA and New York requesting my work.

I've always taken an interest in what's on my doorstep. Whether it's attending community events, joining volunteering groups or keeping tabs on local news. In 2020, I founded Scene in London with a mission to celebrate my local neighbourhood, utilising my design knowledge and love for London, its people and places.

Whether it's capturing local landmarks in my art prints and greeting cards, running creative workshops that bring people together, or sharing my work at community markets, I believe that feeling proud of where we live plays a big part in building happy, connected neighbourhoods. What started as a series of hometown drawings has evolved into a platform for location-based storytelling and visual engagement, deeply rooted in community connection across London.

Let me help you tell your story :)
